Amelia’s Story
Seven Years in Remission and Counting
Amelia was nine months old when she was diagnosed with retinoblastoma, a rare form of childhood cancer that affects the eyes. Her diagnosis changed everything for Amelia and her family, bringing treatment, uncertainty, and challenges no family should have to face.
During one of the most difficult times in their lives, The National Children’s Cancer Society was there to help.
Through financial assistance and support, the NCCS helped ease some of the burdens that came with Amelia’s cancer journey, giving her family the ability to focus on what mattered most: helping Amelia get better.
Today, Amelia is 11 years old and has been in remission for 7 years and counting. She’s growing, learning, making memories, and embracing all the possibilities ahead of her.
Amelia’s journey is a powerful reminder of why supporting children with cancer and their families matters. With the right support, childhood cancer survivors can do more than survive; they are empowered to thrive.
