Our Beyond the Cure Survivorship Program is proud to provide support to hospitals across the country that host survivorship conferences. For 20 years, these conferences have educated childhood cancer survivors, caregivers, and their families on the many issues regarding survivorship and how to navigate life post-cancer treatment.
The Children’s Hospital of The Kings Daughters recently hosted “Survivor Day 2025: Home Run Heroes,” an event honoring childhood cancer survivors and their families. This year’s event took place at a Tide’s baseball game in Norfolk, Virginia. The theme was “Swinging for the Fences,” providing families with various resources and tools to help prepare them for their children’s journey into survivorship care, medically and emotionally.
Over 500 people registered for this Survivor Day, with 12 community partners available to connect and provide resources. The NCCS had two case managers in attendance sharing our Late Effects After Treatment Tool and NCCS publications. This was a successful celebration of the strength and resilience of survivors that included education, fun, food, and baseball.
