Celebrating 20 Years of Beyond the Cure

This year, The National Children’s Cancer Society proudly celebrates the 20th anniversary of our Beyond the Cure Survivorship Program (BTC). Since the program launched in 2005, BTC remains steadfast in its mission to help childhood cancer survivors transition from treatment to thriving while empowering lives by providing critical resources, education, and support.

BTC’S KEY COMPONENTS INCLUDE:

  • Late Effects After Treatment Tool (LEATT): Personalized guidance on potential long-term health risks
  • Beyond the Cure Ambassador Scholarship Program: Financial support to help survivors pursue higher education
  • Regional Conferences: In-person opportunities to learn from experts and connect with other survivors
  • Educational Resources: Free publications for all ages with information about childhood cancer, as well as helpful resources listed on our website
  • Awareness: Young warrior survivor stories that highlight each child’s journey, along with BTC scholarship essays about the impact of childhood cancer on a survivor’s perspective on life

These components aim to guide and support individuals as they navigate life as a childhood cancer survivor. As of 2024, there are nearly 600,000 childhood cancer survivors in the U.S.—and BTC is committed to helping even more families in the decades to come.
