NCCS Prescription Cards Distributed to Families in Need

NCCS Prescription Cards Distributed to Families in Need

The NCCS has partnered with foodbanks across the country to distribute the Agelity prescription drug card. Agelity is a partner and supporter of the NCCS, and their cards help lower the cost of prescriptions for those who are uninsured or underinsured.

As COVID-19 rapidly spread, it became clear the cards might benefit the large numbers of people who find themselves in difficult times. Economic uncertainty and job loss has led to more people seeking assistance from food pantries, so the NCCS began reaching out to food banks across the country to see if they would be willing to distribute the cards.

The response has been very well received. Since starting this initiative, more than 8,850 discount prescription drug cards have been given away through food pantries nationwide. An explanatory flyer is included for recipients so they know how to use the card and that it is from the NCCS.

“We feel honored to step into this opportunity to help people who may need assistance covering the cost of their prescription medications,” said NCCS President and CEO Mark Stolze. “We’re extremely grateful for the partnership with a caring company like Agelity who makes sure families do not endure hardship alone. We appreciate Agelity partnering with us to help families in need.”

The prescription cards are free and available to all who need them. See participating pharmacies in your area on the NCCS website or in the Agelity app.
