Meet Vivian

Vivian, one of our incredible 2024-2025 scholarship recipients, is a first-year engineering student at Purdue. Her goal is to study biomedical engineering next year to design prosthetics!

The Beyond the Cure Ambassador 2025-2026 Scholarship Application is Open!Vivian states, “During my frontline treatment, I had to undergo an invasive surgery on my left leg to remove my bone tumor. The surgery left me with an endoprosthesis in my left leg that left me unable to run or jump again, thus losing the ability to play the sports I loved forever. Having to say goodbye to my sports was hard. But what was harder was being reminded daily of what I could no longer do, sitting on the sidelines in gym class, being unable to run around with my siblings, and modifying everything, all due to the lack of research. But it was because of this pain that I chose my major because I want the quality of life to be better for future kids like me.”

Vivian goes on to share: “This scholarship is not only helping me to further my education so that I can make a difference in future children’s lives but also giving me a chance to just live the college experience in general which is something many people take for granted.”

The scholarship application process will be open from January 1, 2025, through March 31, 2025. Click HERE to learn more and apply.
