Meet Abraham – Leukemia Warrior
“I would like say thank you to the NCCS for making this situation a little easier,” said Korey, Abraham’s mom.
Six year-old Abraham was living a normal, healthy life when he experienced excruciating joint and bone pain. His mom, Korey, took him to the doctor who assured her it was just arthritis and sent him home with some medication. When her son still complained of pain, further tests revealed the worst – Abraham had acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Abraham was hospitalized for weeks or months at a time for treatment. And if that wasn’t difficult enough, the hospital was three hours from his home. The mileage expenses to get to treatment and cost for his dad to come visit on the weekends drained their bank accounts. They needed help. It was then Korey was referred to the NCCS.
“I would like say thank you to the NCCS for the support they have been giving our family, making this situation a little easier,” said Korey.
